Suddenly, I find a new path to the waterfall
Suddenly, I find a new path to the waterfall is a video sound and image installation commissioned for the nave and vestry of St. Philip’s Church in Catterline, Aberdeenshire. On entering the church and approaching the altar, a soundtrack of insects, slow moving water in small streams and bird song gradually increases in volume. A turn to left and the ‘waterfall’ is visible, framed by the door to the vestry, a small darkened room flooded with the Prussian Blue, Ultramarine and Yellow Ochre of minute twigs immersed in water, lichens and nascent ferns in the half light of a dense forest.
There is a waterfall in the village of Catterline. It is very hard to reach.
